Outdoor Fitness, Mat Yoga & Chair Yoga Classes in Oakville | Summer 2022

Well it’s that’s time of year again… end of a school year for the grandkiddies, golf and outdoor pickleball is in full swing (pun intended!), and some of us are heading for the cottage. We Canadians live for this time of year, don’t we?

If you’re planning on staying local… I have some exciting news!  We’ll be offering a lighter summer schedule again this year at Maple Grove United Church, which is located in south east Oakville.We know that our health doesn’t not take time off in the summer, so Bev and I are here for you to help you stay on track and feel energized.  We’re offering our two most popular classes: TBW on Wednesdays and Chair Yoga virtually + in person.Total Body Workout aka TBW will be taught by Beverly and run in the back of the church parking lot in the shade.  You will still have access to the bathrooms and equipment (if needed).  Class could also be taught inside depending on the weather.   In TBW we spend the first 20 minutes focusing on cardio, the next 20 on strength training using either dumbbells or resistance bands, followed by balance, core and flexibility exercises.

Investment:  $72 for 9 week session starting July 6th or $15 per drop in class.  Class runs outdoors in the shade unless raining.Chair Yoga will continue to be offered inside in the Friendship Room and broadcasted over Zoom for those who are joining us from at home.  This class is taught by Leah.  But this isn’t your grandma’s yoga class – it’s similar to a typical yoga class but we sit on chairs instead of the floor which is ideal for those who have knee and hip sensitivities.  We work on flexibility, balancing, core and coordination.

Investment:  $108 for 9 week session starting July 6th or $15 per drop in class and run indoors.  To attend virtually over Zoom cost is $72 or $12 drop ins.  Both in person and virtual include a recording of class afterwards. ** FRIDAY MAT YOGA CLASS NOW ADDED TO THE SCHEDULE **

Friday Yoga will continue to run in the sanctuary inside the Church.  This class is for those who are looking to deepen their yoga practice, while embracing the mature body.  We will vary from standing and sitting postures, including balance poses and gentle core strengthening exercises.  Class will run every Friday throughout the Friday with the exception of Fridays before a long weekend.  No classes July 29 and September 2.
