This post is for those of you who interested in classes at the TOWN OF OAKVILLE COMMUNITY CENTRES.   All the classes listed in this email are taught by me.Classes start the week of March 27th and run until the week of June 12th.  Non-Oakville residence registration opens 2 weeks afterwards.  I apologize for this however, I’ve never had an issue of someone not getting in.  I have provided all the links in blue to take you directly to the Town website.  If you have any questions or need more information, please hit reply to this email.  I’m here to help.  🙂************************************

Chair Yoga | Thursdays at 11:45am located at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre (new recreation build where the old hospital was located on Reynolds).

This class is great for those with knee and hip sensitives, and have difficulty sitting on the floor for long periods of time. The chair is used as a prop.  This class fills up quickly so if you’re interested please register early.

Looking for a class that will introduce you to meditation and mindfulness?  Feel like life is passing you by or feelings of overwhelm or anxiousness?  Then I highly suggest you give this a try.The misconception about meditation is that you need to sit still for long periods of time or have a clear mind.  The goal of this class is to teach you how to work towards pulling yourself in the present moment and guiding your body into a state of deep relaxation.  It’s a practice and a skill that is acquired over time.

If this sounds like you, then why don’t you try Movement, Mindfulness and Meditation on Wednesdays at 1:30pm at Glen Abbey Community Centre (Third Line and Upper Middle).I have a second class of Movement, Mindfulness and Meditation on Thursdays at 1pm at Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre (on Reynolds, where the old hospital was located).

I have three weekly yoga classes at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre (north east Oakville).  These ones require the purchase of an annual seniors membership of $44 but the cost of the session is cheaper per class then our standard classes (as listed above).Yoga Level 1 50+ | Mondays at 1pmYoga Level 2 50+ | Fridays at 11amGentle Yoga 50+ | Fridays at 1:30pmLevel 1 is great for those who are beginners or looking to get back into yoga as we develop our practice. Level 2 is for the intermediate yogi who wants to build sequencing and take on more challenging poses.Gentle Yoga is a new class I’m taking on this spring.  It’s geared for those who have more body sensitives and might be afraid of hurting themselves in a traditional yoga class.  We go slow, we take or time and build trust with our bodies again.  Although this is a mat yoga class, chairs will be available if required.

I’m excited to share that I’ve recently taken over Monday afternoon’s Gentle Osteo Fitness class at Iroquois Ridge.  This class is dedicated to building stronger bones and has a similar structure to our popular TBW fitness class at Maple Grove.  The best part?  No mat work!  All core, balance and stretching will be done with a chair.Gentle Osteo Fitness | Mondays at 2pm.  This class is also on Wednesdays 2-3pm and Fridays 9:30-10:30 and taught by my amazing colleague June Lee.
