This healthy dark chocolate almond recipe makes me weak in the knees. I’m addicted to dark chocolate almonds but there’s still tons of sugar in them which is why I love this recipe. In honour of my birthday, I am featuring a yummy chocolate recipe featuring coconut oil.
I talked about the healthy benefits of coconut oil and how consuming it regularly will help you lose weight. If you are new to this website or me, one thing you need to know about me is that I love chocolate and it is one thing I do not deprive myself of eating regularly. You should NOT either. I love featuring healthy recipes containing chocolate and I am a huge fan of darker, richer chocolates, which are higher in antioxidants and minerals such as magnesium.
The secret to enjoying life’s guilty pleasures is to keep everything in moderation. This may be a healthy recipe for chocolate but make sure you do NOT consume it ALL in one sitting.
Serves 12
The ingredients.
⅓ cup coconut oil, melted
1 cup cocoa/cacao powder
4 tablespoons maple syrup
2 dashes sea salt
4 tablespoons slivered almonds
Step 1 – the only step (see I told you it was easy).
Melt coconut oil, and whisk in maple syrup, salt, and cocoa/cacao powder until smooth. Stir in slivered almonds until evenly distributed. Pour into an ice cube tray and freeze. Store in fridge or freezer to avoid melting.
Serve & enjoy!
Tip: Substitute other seeds, chopped nuts, or dried fruit instead of the almonds if you wish.
